Alma is a wild 99-year-old lady who was born in the First Republic of Estonia, lived through Soviet and German occupations, and eventually saw Estonia become a free country again in 1991. Thanks to having been a teacher throughout her adulthood, she has an exceptionally good memory and guides the viewer through different chapters of her life. Her experiences give a strong reflection on how occupations change human character, while also shining a light on her cheerful personality, showing that tough times are not a reason to lose connection with your heart.
